What a difference six years has made in Patawasi. They have gone from a rustic adobe classroom to a well equipped classroom with much enthusiasm for learning. The mandatory sewing and computer classes are well attended. We are excited to be supporting their efforts! Above 2017, Below 2023
The students and teachers are looking forward to the start of the school year late March. We have all the necessary support in place to help them achieve their education and nutrition goals! Will report back soon on their progress!
Twenty two years after graduating from the high school in Paccha that Fundación Comunidad started, we were tickled to get an update from some of our initial scholarship students from 2010. Julian Lopez AnccasiBorn in Paccha, he was orphaned at the age of 8. There were seven brothers, he was the only one to go to high school. At that time, in 2004, Comunidad started the secondary school in Paccha, set up a kitchen, bought the ingredients for the students' daily...
During the past two years, Comunidad has been assisting the community of Chaquipampa with their vegetable gardens and bakery goals. Mid 2022 we sent them proofing racks and other baking supplies to help them take the baking to an official vocational level, it’s now a class! We’ve been told their bread is extraordinary!
Comunidad was able to get 12 new sewing machines to our three rural Andean communities, during the month of July. The machines are for the students and their families, and their response has been robust! We are excited by their excitement. Humberto carefully sourced the machines, secured fair prices and had them transported to the villages. We hope the machines will open up a source of income as they develop their skills, and yes there is now a sewing class offered.The agricultural project...
